BAND TOGETHER FOR CANTEBURY

In 2011, Band Together for Canterbury, a free benefit concert organized by Jason Kerrison, drew a crowd of over 170,000 to Christchurch’s Hagley Park in the wake of the devastating earthquakes. Featuring many of Aotearoa’s most celebrated artists, the event raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for relief efforts while lifting the spirits of a grieving community. For his leadership and service, Jason was awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM), recognising both his contribution to music and his role in rallying the nation at a time of need.

“ROCKSTARS OF RESEARCH” SHINES FOR PARKINSON’S

On July 31, 2025, the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui lit up with energy and generosity as the inaugural Rockstars of Research gala brought the Bay of Plenty community together for a night of hope and music. With more than $72,000 raised, the event delivered a powerful boost to The Cure Collective at the University of Auckland’s Centre for Brain Research, accelerating vital work for the 13,000 Kiwis – and millions worldwide – living with Parkinson’s disease. Featuring heartfelt stories, inspiring panel discussions, and live performances by Jason Kerrison and Josh Leys, the night proved that when community, science, and song come together, the impact is unforgettable.
